Heat Detectors

How many times have you made overdone bacon, charred toast, broiled something or had something overflow in the oven? Did you end up doing the dishtowel salute to the smoke detector? We've all been there. The smoke detector is doing exactly what it is designed to do - detect smoke. This is where heat detectors come in to play. A heat detector detects heat either 135 degrees or 194 degrees depending on the application. We also have rate-of-rise heat detectors that send an alarm signal if the temperature at the heat detector rapidly increases as it would in a fire situation. We realize that the garage, over the fireplace, in the kitchen and in a bathroom exhaust, occasional smoke, dust or steam may cause a false alarm so we use heat detectors to minimize false alarms whenever possible.
